As evening turns to dusk
A final call from nature's day time troop
Heralds the beginning of the night time shift
As weary sun settles in his horizon bed
Content that he made peaceful conversation with sky today
Mrs Moon stirs from day dream slumbers
Half awake refusing to break the spell of her imagination,
If only for a few more nights.
Then out for mischief fox appears
Modern attitudes in an ever growing world of concrete trees and takeaways
Are his instincts now less primal?
Just like us who have become
mere 2d imitations of ourselves in a 5g world?
At least mother earth remembers
Even if she has to think about it for a little while
Someday I think she may forget us all
But then am reminded that it will never happen
Not while spring time romances fire up the blood
And the usual gentility is somewhat tarnished by battle worn knights
And so a final honey fly meanders to wherever they go
Passing moth as she flies blind through the changing of the guard
And then as quick as you like
Day becomes night
And a new set of adventures begin

Super words SC, that period between dusk and night is so wonderful in many ways.
Andy
I was walking Bella at that time last night. It was just magical.
Really like this crow .. so many good lines and so nicely expressed
I especially like these lines
‘Mrs Moon stirs from day dream slumbers
Half awake refusing to break the spell of her imagination,’
Lovely to read 🙂
Glad you had a nice walk .
I think we can sometimes just not be in touch with who we truly are and be a bit out of sync with the world . Like your mention of the 5 g world
And all it takes is a gentle stroll in nature to reset us. Thank you for reading and I'm glad you enjoyed the poem
Yes , being in nature can definitely help with that connection to the world , least sometimes .
I walked around a lake the other day .. loved being near the water and seeing all the ducks !
Good write SC.
Thanks Orchi
This is beautiful!
Thanks Chris. You're very kind
Truly enjoyed the imagery…yesterday I wrote about breaking dawn and now I am awestruck to your details of fantasising dusk….very beautiful dear Saxon Crow…

Its mine too, especially in woodland. Thanks for your comments dusk 😁
I love the weary sun and Mrs. Moon, such personalities you've given them. We are, after all ruled by day and night, it's lovely to think of the way you've presented it. Wonderful!
Thanks Bella. I'm glad you enjoyed it.
So good.
Thank you
What better way to recharge one's life batteries than with a walk in Nature? Something I've been wanting to do for some time now. Great write Sax. 😉
