Double-Sided Decisions

orchidee

Tune: Angel Voices

('Come to us, creative Spirit'

= 'Angel voices ever singing')

***********

Man proposes, God disposes

All He wills and says

Yet works in co-operation

With every nation

That will seek Him, for they shall find

Of His mercies they are kind

And work out your own salvation

Men of each station

For it is God that works in you

By His graces true

He inspires to deed and action

Of His people, e'en each one

Whosoever, they may saved be

If come to Christ, see

And also there pre-destiny

In God's wisdom be

Here free offer, no compulsion

To become God's daughter, son

And yet there no other name for

Our salvation sure

But the name of Jesus Christ can

Save each woman, man

Children too, a universal

Salvation be unto all

Jesus, He the Life, the Truth, Way

For us night and day

Enter through the strait gate, follow

Him on life's path, know

It a narrow way, persevere

Fear only with godly fear

  • Comment from author about the poem: A hymn-poem in 8.5.8.5.8.7. format. A less well known hymn, to a more well known tune. This leads on rather, from my 'Keep and Kept' poem, God and us, co-operation, working together, etc.
