Dreams

spilleronsheet

Feathers of birds keep flying

counted sheep

jumping here and there

I wonder,

how our world can ever asleep ?

disguised as light, wings of thought

tickle my ears

 refusing me, my asleep

denying me, that witnessed beauty

of paradise

those dreams waiting to be unleashed

raging inside, like a fire

Rising up magma,

to emotions of my mantle

burning my feet

scolding me inside

keeping me awake, all night

A candy floss to a child

a college admission to a high schooler

a “Yes” reply, to a desperate confession

a pay check to an adult

Money to dreams

opportunity to only, some

dreams made - reality, fulfilling expectations

but only for the few

which one - are you?

as heavy as boulders

upon which reality of bridge shall form

upon the serene and calm waves of mind

you build in disguise

hampering my nights

shivering me with cold sweats all night

keeping me anxious overnight

what are these ?

a web of dreams that keeps me alive…..

  • L. B. Mek

    love! the poetic and
    socio philosophical, ambitions
    in this well considered write,
    really unfurled your concept
covered its impact on such a wide spectrum
    of societal, groups..
    making your complex theory
that much easier to grasp and relate to..
    great to see you challenging
    those deeper, philosophical problems
    sharing opinions on macro perspectives
    instead of our generations
    'work our way back'
    from easy-fix, micro problems..
    thanks for sharing, dear Poet

Thanks dear Mek….the webs of dreams expanding over the universe…connecting the minds of all….and your in-depth review makes it so special…

    • Nicholas Browning

I gotta say the repetition of "all night" was a lovely touch. Dreams and desires burn like firewood sometimes. A thought provoking read and a unique use of language. Enjoyed!

      • spilleronsheet

Thanks dear Nicholas, yep you got me…Glad you like it
        Much appreciated

      • Saxon Crow

Another stunning piece of poetry. I must say I really do enjoy all your work

        • spilleronsheet

Thank you so much dear Saxon Crow…that totally elates me and makes me smile….much appreciated.

        • Rocky Lagou

"as heavy as boulders," wow talk about a simile. This is so so delicate and ready to be consumed by the eye. I literally love this. Those "dreams" or those apirations we hold so close to heart can truly leave us restless.

          • spilleronsheet

You got me dear Rocky…resonating through words, looks like your dreams too keep you on feet….glad you liked it…

Indeed, just what are dreams for I have had some very strange ones over the last few nights... last night found me cutting up liver with scissors and feeling the texture and the blades progressed... very odd, followed my more oddness.

Reality of bridge like a quiz show in our minds eye yet we fall to sleep... fall being such a word in itself there.

Interesting poem upon which i dwelled reflecting upon my dream and waking condition.

            • spilleronsheet

That one was really a weird dream…did you watch any movie while awake, dear Dusk?
Or did you had desire to be a surgeon ?
I am glad my poetry could catch your eyes, and so glad to know your view on dreams …..

there are so many great lines that weave in and out of 'Dreams' I would be hard pushed to decide which among them were my favourites ..

now visited several times to try and make up my mind .. I now conclude that there could very easily be two distinctly separate or individual poems pinned to this particular page ... Neville

              • spilleronsheet

Ohhhh, you did a deep down review dear Neville…looks like you read my mind and correlated with what was going up in my brain…two poems you say, well your kind to find two….thanks dear Neville

              • Bella Shepard

Our dreams are to our sleeping brain as food is to our body, necessary. They provide order, inspiration, resolution, and while we sleep our brains are more active than when we are awake. Such a beautiful expression of this in your poem. I loved every line.

                • spilleronsheet

Thanks dear Bella…surely dreams are like food to brain…but they surely are keeping me insanely awake…glad you could rejoice my lines….

                • Rozina

Simply stunning! I'm inspired now to write about a dream I just woke up from.

                  • spilleronsheet

And I am eagerly waiting to read your dream….thanks dear Rozina

May those dreams always be with you spilleronsheet.

                    • spilleronsheet

Thanks a lot dear Andy…I wish those dreams to now become a reality…
