  • Fay Slimm.

Saw the tragedy of Alzheimer more clearly after reading this clever three liner my friend. A sad and more than familiar happening to many.

    • spilleronsheet

Very true dear Fay…and it sad that mankind is still behind and nothing can cure it apart slow the process…it’s suffering for both the patient and their closed ones…

    • L. B. Mek

      worded so eloquently
      that timeless quality of brevity
      exemplified, with such sincerity..
      thank you! dear Poet

i took care of my granny for years watching each painful step through the maze of Alzheimer’s. it is truly the worst disease.

      • spilleronsheet

It sure is….I can’t even imagine the pain you have been through…one of known people in the community had this and he didn’t no long remember us and later it was even worst…power to all who are going through it…

I wouldn't normally cut & paste but agree with every word Teddy said ...

Thank you so much Dear Neville
Both Teddy and you are alighting the hot air balloon in me
I don’t know whether I am really that capable
Whether will I be able to live up the expectations of my friends

          • Neville

just let it happen and above all else, enjoy .................................. float on my friend 🙂

          • Rocky Lagou

Okay I didn't expect to walk into a senryu but I'm so glad I did. My grandpa suffered from Alzheimer and I know just how saddening it is to watch someone practically "fade away." They begin to forget even things like a beloved family member's name, it's a fight. Thanks you for this marvel.

            • spilleronsheet

I am so sorry for you dear Rocky
I am sorry I scratched the wound again
It’s really overwhelming grief inside for the person suffering and for those who are close by
              While emptiness eats the patient
The close ones suffer to see the pain of being erased of memories

            • Vamsi Sudha

An excellent 5/7/5 Spills, a summary of the tragedy of 'brain failure'.

                  • spilleronsheet

So very right dear Rozina, the brain failure.
                    Thanks dear Rozina

Such emotive words spilleronsheet, my wife had dementia and passed away due to it so I know how this happens and affects all around.

                    Andy

                    • spilleronsheet

I am sorry for your loss dear Andy….I have encountered one of the relatives who suffered from Alzheimer but hearing about you…I can’t even imagine how hard it would have been for you….I hope this could be cured…it really is a termite and makes people suffer….

                    • SureshG

The memories have not faded, it’s just that the reboot button is not functioning - most powerfully phrased

                      • spilleronsheet

                        So very true
                        Memories intact they lay
It’s just, lost are the keys to reopen it
