My Gymnast

Christina8

One thing you do daughter,

Is make us so proud;

During the medals ceremony

we tried to clap and be loud!

You're not a little girl anymore

One that I can hold;

But your attitude is a mix

of bravery and being bold.

With your gymnastics

you defy gravity;

I watch you compete

and it's amazing to me

How my baby girl has

grown into a young lady;

Capable of so much but

Your sweet demeanor means more to me.

                It is good when we can feel proud of our children, whatever age they may be. I have two grown sons, both married with their own families, and my wife and I have many reasons to be proud of our boys. A warmly written poetic piece!
