Fur Elise Again.

Goldfinch60

I sit at my computer

And it happens once more,

A piece of music is played,

A piece that I know,

I know so well,

I have even played it,

Played it on the piano

Back in my youthful days.

But why is it,

Why is it today

That I have to stop,

Just stop and listen.

The music drags me in,

Drags me into its wonder.

I just stop and listen

And so many memories come,

Come back from my childhood.

Watching my dad play,

Play the piano.

My Dad the one who brought music,

Brought music into my life.

All types of music he listened to

And I have become him,

Become him in my love,

My love of music.

These wonderful memories,

Of one of Nature’s gentlemen

Bringing such glory to my life.

He passed many years ago

But I see him every day,

Every day as I look in the mirror.

Such beautiful memories came back,

Came back this day

All because of Beethoven,

All because of Beethoven’s feelings,

Feelings for Elise.

Isn't music amazing, you can't remember where you put the car keys, but as soon as a bit of music comes on, you're transported back to another time and place.

So very true Paul, music has such wonderful power in our lives.

Andy, you and your dad share something very special. And the music is only the beginning of it. Your dad would be proud. 😉

Yes a great piece of music - my Dad intoduced me to The Nutcracker suite which triggered my love of classical music. Like you the memories come flooding back.

Your poem brought back many happy memories. Beautiful. 1 of the pieces I could play a little bit, the first part. Loved listening to this. My father tried to learn the violin when he was older but passed away before too long.

So glad to have brought back happy memories Rozina.
