Everyday

Saxon Crow

Open door

Step outside

Walk up steps

Look left

Look right

Clouds grey up above

There's only rain

On dew soaked grass

Down the street

I follow feet

Around the corner

To the farmers field

The view is green

Where I look

It's peaceful here

I'm feeling good

In the distance

Echoes heard

Moving on

Time for home

Dog barks

Cock crows

The towers humming

For mobile phones

The birds chirping

Squirrel feeds

The stillness

Of the flowering trees

A distant drone

That turns to roar

A car drives by

Off to work

The marching grind

Of foot to floor

Stopping for breath

I'm at my door

Hi crow , )) we can all have our routines , but sometimes they can feel mundane abs boring canโ€™t they . Nature can make things feel a bit brighter tho . A nice writing ๐Ÿ™‚

    • Saxon Crow

Nahhhh. This is not a poem about the mundane. More about looking beyond it. As ever, you're right, nature does do us the best

Ok ๐Ÿ™‚ I understand . Itโ€™s good to look beyond that . Sometimes when Iโ€™m sad my day can feel that little bit brighter , just by seeing a bird ))

I was gonna write an unprintable poem called 'Everyday I'm gonna sing!' Arrgghhh, it's too horrific and terrifying to publish. lol.

          (a journey, in a read!
          Brilliantly realised, jam packed
          with such intricate details
making it all, so vividly immersive..)
          thank you!
          for sharing, such an introvertedly
          fulfilling, reading experience
          dear Poet

What a great poem Saxon! I felt as if it were really me going through your morning routine. I'm glad you feel at peace when connected with the outdoors. May you have many more walks to come!

You did a great job with this poem! I admire how you gave the reader great imagery

I walk or cycle every morning around my quiet neighbourhood and your poem is very much like my morning jaunts. It is most enjoyable outside in the fresh air. Might see a neighbour walking the dog or someone else out for a jog. Your poem is just right! So nice.

            • Saxon Crow

Thanks Roz. You can't beat an early morning walk or jog

It does the heart and soul good to get out and breathe in life. ๐Ÿ˜‰

a good conversational poem, lovely lyrics, with an uplifting poetic voice. (It's peaceful here, I'm feeling good) Some clear imagery we can all relate to. My fave words are: "The stillness Of the flowering trees" Lovely lines with a steady rhythm.
