The dots glare at me from the page.
Up and down they go,
On or between the lines.
Sometimes the dots give way to circles,
Most have tails, clinging to the lines.
What is the code
That these varying marks
Are trying to show me?
They weave in seemingly endless patterns,
Sometimes jumping high,
Or falling low.
They are compelling to view,
But what do they mean?
They can show the beauty in life
That skilled interpreters can give them,
When interpreted with passion.
All emotions can be shown
From these dots on a page.
Anger, calm, peace and love,
Abound in the interpretation,
Of the code of music,
The code of delight.

I do try to Orchi but you need to get further away. LOL
Andy
It'll be more delight, yes, the further I go!
A beautiful interpretation on the code of music. Music is the heart of emotions indeed! Love your animated phrases and wordings!
Thank you Judy, much appreciated, music has been with me for all my long life.
Andy
(thank you! Andy
for sharing this ode to music
and helping inspire
one of my most important
scribbled, replies)
'they say Math's
holds the secrets to our universe
maybe...
Personally
I feel, if you can truly read music
then you're in-tune
with the wisdom of Nature, in A life
and I think
we will never need
anything more, to interpret
the wondrous, majesty
imbued
in all, our lives...!'
(delight, Indeed!)
Thank you Mek.
There is a theory that if you are good at understanding music you will be good at maths.
Andy
it makes sense Andy
there is Truth in symmetry
in rhyme, in melody
and this all can be defined
by the maths of it all..
Pythagoras and his beans
may have been on to something..
lol
Wow, as a person who has the privilege to "somewhat" decipher this "code" because of my background knowledge with music I'm so happy to say that I can delve in its splendor. But even not knowing, it's so beautiful to just look at. A marvelous presentation.
Thank you Rocky, to 'delve into it's splendour' is so wonderful.

Ah but.... lets us compare the dots to the written word and perhaps then... the written word read aloud.
Firstly, reading the written word is interpreted with mind pictures which differ within the realms of each readers mind. The ageing wood carver may well be forming a quite different picture to the successful chartered accountant's mind vision.
So then which sympathetic version would be the most well received in our ears if read aloud?
The words on paper, or the musical notation are just the nuts and bolts of a meccano set for the performer. It is what that performer makes of them which provides either the sweetness or the rasping for our eardrums which are of course, in turn, quite subjective eardrums anyway LOL.
True words d a, when listening (and I mean listening not just hearing) we all have our own interpretations of what we are hearing, similarly as you say with the written word and certainly in one's own interpretation of artworks.
Andy
Morse code I think
In your opinion yes. I know you are a much better guitarist than I but if you put a piece of music in front of me I can play the notes.LOL
Andy
A beautiful code
And a lovely poetry
An ode to music
Well worded dear Andy…
Most kind spilleronsheet.
Andy
I am still learning this code but even in my novice stage I love it. Both your poem and the music.
We are always learning Rozina. Thank you for your kind words.
