Turn the TV off
It will change your life
And then you'll realise
There is no strife
No hate or division
That rules the world
No contradiction
To confuse us all
Turn the TV off
It's a definite sure thing
Guaranteed happiness
Is what it will bring
No more lies from
People in suits
No more distractions
Or trivial pursuits
Turn the TV off
Trust me you'll see
That actually life is good
And people really aren't actually, intentionally at all that very mean

Provided you don't then transfer to social media, Instagram and all (do try to keep up 😊). Good message, though, Sax.
my thought exactly. nowadays we essentially have TVs in our pocket
We haven't had a TV for about 5 years now. And every time an item of news somehow makes its way to a day, our whole internal equilibrium is a kilter for days on end. Thanks for sharing.
True words SC but how do I then watch Star Trek!
Andy
All we have to do is get rid of the tv and social media, iPhones and such…. Then you won’t be able to call the cops when they breaking into your home, and you won’t know to stock up on food because the news said the drought is coming..
Your comment exemplified the point of the poem well.
Soaps can become completely unrealistic. And I've never met people in real life as wooden as some actors/actresses.
And - Neighbours is ending for good soon. Break out the champagne celebrations. Our misery will soon be over! lol. Come back Bouncer, the only proper actor in it!
Lol
Nicely written, S.C.
The American Amash do quite nicely living a plane life.
We definitely over consume and are over consumed by our electronic world.
Good poem, and I do have to agree I sometimes have to shut off the TV. I thought your flow was great.
How can we know for sure that everything the news says is true .. o don’t believe it always is .. abs it’s Something I avoid .. I hardly ever watch the news , listen to it .. I think is mostly negative anyway and can trigger fear and anxiety in some people . A good writing .. crow
