My Town / Village !

Justa_Geezer

My town or village !

My little towns not even a village,
More like a hamlet, you know what I mean,
Part of the Parish of Bacton on sea,
Look to the West,  its all fertile and green.

Incorporating five other hamlets,
Here in Keswick,  make claim to the best beach,
Inland, we have old Bromholm priory,
Ruins, a few hundred yards, well in reach.

Sacked by Henry eighth, 1536,
Having been built in 1113,
Breaking well away, from the Rome's firm grip,
Of Henrys English Christianity.

In this place, live more than twelve hundred folk,
Mostly content, and pleased as they can be,
They are the most lovely friendly people,
In Norfolk there's countryside, sand and sea.

A third of our gas arrives in Bacton,
At the terminal, just along the coast,
Six companies, process from North Sea Rigs,
Pipelines from Holland and from Belgium, most.

One pub left in Bacton, Poachers Pocket,
But there's food places nearly everywhere,
A Chinese, kebab's and even Vegan,
Most any sort of food for you to share.

With hound ? just down the road, turn the corner,
you'll find that "Watson's," will welcome you there,
Nicky and Ed will get you sorted out,
You just could not meet a much nicer pair.

why fly away from a place you know well
stay home for best of British, don't you see
Don't fly planes increasing global warming
Stay in my home village, Bacton on Sea !

Sounds a delightful place. There are so many delightful places in the UK where I have been or intend to go.
If I knock on your door one day will you take me for a pint at The Poachers Pocket?
