Tune: Carlisle
('Stand up and bless the Lord')
Psalm 127 v.1-2
********
Except the Lord does build
The house, it does not yield
Any profit, but labour vain
Of man be, toil and pain
Except the Lord does keep
The city, and His sheep
The watchman in vain stays awake
For wolves the sheep may take
'Tis vain for you to rise
Ealy, sleep self-deny
And to sit up late, eat the bread
Of sorrows, fear, and dread
For so He gives unto
His beloved sleep anew
Built on rock your house, life is, true
If you His words hear, [and] do

For as long as I can remember, I have always liked the idea of a happy house ........................ 🙂
Thanks N.
Vanity to work ,vanity to rest, vanity to rise up - no wonder house rock will have to do!
Thanks CB.
The best house is built on a happy rock - - thanks for the needed reminder dear Orchi.
Thanks Fay.
I want to consume this effervescent poem. I feel like when we build on a firm foundation we're destined for success, and this poem so beautifully expressed that notion. Thanks Orchi for your hymns!
Thanks Rocky.
Lovely video, beautiful images and voices. Your last two lines are so very true, for life is built upon that rock of faith, sound and stable.
Thanks Bella. I sneaked them in, those last two lines. Not from the Psalm.
God one Orchi.
Thanks Gold.
