NOWHERE TO GO

Michael Edwards

Behind her the gloom

of the woods and the shrubberies

the dark paths and the long shadows.

Before her the house

with unlit porch and bare rooms

and damp stained mouldy walls.

Once she is in the house she will put the lights on and brightness will fill her life.

Your poem though brief has deep meaning,
I can understand the heroine's sad plight,
But, she can go to a holy place like Church
And deliver a prayer for a bright turn,
For giving boons and also praying,
We have none else except God only!
