My River flows beside me,
Its gentle soul passes by.
I touch it and feel it,
I know it is part of my life
And that I will not touch that part,
Not touch that part again
As it has passed me by
On its journey to infinity.
Time is like a river,
Every moment passes
And that moment will not touch us,
Will not touch us again,
And we will not touch that moment again.
Moments are important in life
So enjoy every one of them,
Enjoy every moment of your life.

Good write Gold.
There are some hymns mentioning rivers too. Time for a song - by me. Arrggh!
You know the imaginary song - 'By a river far away' - further away the better! heehee.
Thanks Orchi.
Yes the further away the better.

there is something timeless about a good old river regardless of whether it rushes past or meanders more slowly .. I can see where you are coming from sir ..
There certainly is Neville, thank you for your comment.

Rivers meander and they rush, they flood and they dribble by. Time too seems like this and as they say you can never stand in the same river twice. Nice write
Thank you soren, so very true.

You are welcome, Andy.
Your analogy of the river and time is perfect. This is so beautifully and lovingly written it touches a chord very deep within, as I read and listen to your extraordinary choice of music. This is a true fav.

This is rejuvenating. Thank you for this splendorous journey through time.
Utilizing the river as a metaphor also sets the peaceful and pensive tone of this poem. Life is precious, and we ought to make the most of it.
Very true Rocky, life is so very precious and we must enjoy every moment.
