Karen Anne Carpenter (March 2 1950-February 4 1983)

Karen was a singer with an angelic voice.
Alongside her brother Richard they formed the Carpenters.
Karen had a three-octave contralto vocal range.
She was one of the greatest singers ever.

But of course God gives you a talent,
And he makes you pay for that gift.

Karen Carpenter suffered from Anorexia Nervosa,
Which caused her to die of heart failure in 1983.

One of her most revealing songs was Rainy Days and Mondays.
