Acsetic

sorenbarrett

Poverty some suffer by chance

others select it by choice

In this life there's a dance,

where nothingness' partner may rejoice

Poverty of health or wealth

does not mean destitution of the soul

But when one gains by stealth,

we have to ask what is life's goal?

To have nothing to loose is freeing,

standing with your back to the wall

All you have is your own being,

knowing, nothing more can hurt you at all

Giving up what one values is hard

There is beauty in the asthetic

But the trust to throw in one's last card,

is the choice, giving peace to the acsetic

Certainly also a message to those who may be tempted by ill gotten gains, do not sell your soul. Nice piece

...the simple and the clear makes the most of that last card. Or so one can presume! Thanks for feeding thought.

Thanks for the review and comment Cryptic. When you get to the last card things are simple and clear, win or loose.

      Good write SB.
A daft tale - I gave someone a pack of cards. I said if the last card I choose in the pack is the Ace of Spades, you owe me £10 million.
He did not know they were ALL Ace of Spades! lol.

Thanks Orchidee, I used to like to use a Svengali deck, where every other card was the same and the other cards were shaved so that wherever you cut you would get the same card but people would only see the different ones. A stacked deck is the only way to guarantee a win.

Wonderful poem, and your third stanza is certainly one to contemplate and reflect upon. This piece gave me so much to think about, and touches on a question I ask my self daily, "Who am I really, and what do I value?" Thank you dear friend, your words are always inspiring and thought-filled.
