Like a tornado spins around
I feel my life a mess
Not what I intended
This I must confess
All I wanted
Was to love sincere
To be everlasting
And not disappear
No one knows how many tears
A heart can cry
Till you look back on your life
Without answers of why
When tomorrow comes
It’ll soon turn into yesterday
Leaving me to wonder
What happened to today
The dreams that live forever
And the dreams that fade away
The ones that never give up on me
Why they haunt me still today
When I look in the mirror
Who stares back at me?
The man I am
Or who I wanted to be

When I look in the mirror I see my father many times.
Andy
Thanks Andy. I see my dad too sometimes wondering what he might be trying to tell me.
The poem is a moving reflection on life's uncertainties, emotional turmoil, and the importance of self-reflection. The use of metaphors, imagery, and universal themes makes the poem relatable and thought-provoking.
Thanks M. I'm seldom so gloomy, but this morning these words just dropped in on me unexpectedly.
A fine write AP.
Thanks Orchi. We never really know just who's in that mirror. π
