Each step along the path of life
We look towards the future
And try to visualise how far we have to go,
And where we are going in life,
That future is in our hands
And we may have no idea where it leads.
We also have our past
Which is always in our memories,
And for those memories we should be grateful
And shed gratitude,
Gratitude for every step we have taken
To get to that wonderful place,
That wonderful place we are today.

Nice message and Perfect to adorn it with Bobby Darin. Wondering if the iconic version Mack the Knife by Ella has ever caught your ear? In alive performance she forgets the lyrics and Ad libs and creates a wonderful version.

Oh yes I have ALL Ella's recorded music and the album Ella in Berlin is so wonderful.
Thank you for your words David.

You are very cool. Amongst my most prized possessions is the the Box set
The Complete Ella Fitzgerald Songbooks
As far as I am concerned Ella could sing a telephone directory and it would still sound great.

I’ve actually said that same phrase. DIG!!

I'm gonna sing it - 'One more step along the road I go....'
'Where ya going?' they ask! lol.
The further away the better if you are going to sing Orchi.
Andy
Take several steps - you or I. Or if we both do, we shall be even further away from each other. lol.

This has always been one of my favorite songs. I had never paired it with gratitude so this gave it a new angle. Yes so right we need to be grateful for where we have been and where we are. Such a wonderful thought.
Most kind Soren, thank you.

Either good or bad, I'm thankful for all experiences because they led me to who I am today and where I am and who I'm with,
Just as they led you to your special lady!
So very true Melissa, thank you.
