This, I Ask of You

Accidental Poet

As you look back on your life

How would you like to be remembered?

Were someone to write a book on you

What would you want entered?

Your grieving family

Who know you better than most

Life long friends who’ve got your back

Of your achievements they proudly boast

The struggles you endured

Compassion in your endeavors

Being a team player

Receiver and returner of favors

The learning and teaching of trust

The difference between honesty and deceit

When to risk your heart

And when to retreat

A legacy we leave behind

The ripples in our wake

Who will read between the lines?

Stand on our behalf for our sake

We all have regrets

Things we did or didn’t do

Of that I myself am guilty

This I ask of you

Good words AP, we all have regrets but we can do nothing about them now so we just move on having learned.

Thank you Liz, Yes, trusting your own heart as well as someone else's is a definite challange. But we all get through it one way or another.
