Do We No Longer Care?

Goldfinch60

Why does it happen!

A submarine is lost,

Five wealthy people

Lost their lives.

Yes, it is a tragedy

But why does it gain such headlines?

They did it because they had money,

And money is important,

Important in the news!

But off Greece a boat capsized,

With maybe hundreds killed,

But that just becomes no news

As those with money

Make the news!

Is our world so dreadful

That five rich people dying

Is more meaningful,

Than hundreds of poor people dying!

What is happening to our world?

Do we no longer care?

It's tragic in itself, but who has the money to go on these things in the first place?
And furthermore, how did we get to the Moon before 1969?! heehee. Who paid for the trip?

    • Goldfinch60

Those who don't give a damn about others have the money!

      We do care.
      Just finding our voice.

      • Goldfinch60

We need to speak louder then 2781.

And after the earthquake a fire; But the Lord was not in the fire: and after the fire a still small voice.

I have no words and I have no hope that the infidels can ever reclaim a righteous soul. I hate all the truth you phrased and I’m with you deep into this abyss. It’s always good though to reach out to the Finch and come correct.

            Thank you Bobby, much appreciated.

And that tune youposted sparks a thought of a thought running back to misprint youth. Lalo Shifrin composed the Good, Bad and Ugly theme but my mind runs to perhaps the more famous them from Mission Impossible , a gslajt group of mission, should you decide to accept it and that tape that speaks destructs in five more seconds. You go Finch man ,yo go!!

This is the sorry state of the world- and why poets like you are so important. Raise awareness, Finch, be the change! 🙂

Thank you Joan, so true, I will try.

              Hi Andy,
We’ve been dying for millennia. Takes unique to catch the eye.

It certainly does John, we must try to make a difference and improve our world.

                When did 'we' ever 'care'?
Not like you to venture into the realm of the 'Sociopolitical', Andy. Great to see.
What you have stated there is a truth, the symptom of the disease which aids in keeping people in their place to the satisfaction of your rich and powerful.

                • Goldfinch60

Thank you Dave, the rich and powerul have a great deal for which to answer but just don't care.

No it does not seem right Neville, maybe it will change?

What I don't understand is how the sub got clearance to make the trip in the first place. It obviously could not have been rated for such a deep dive. Probably someone got paid off by all the rich billionaires who are now no longer among the living. They temped the hand of fate and lost. Great write Andy.

Probably very true AP. Thanks for your thoughts.
