Guests?

Goldfinch60

Sitting on our balcony

In our hotel room,

Looking out to the glorious sea

We had a visitor,

A sparrow landed in front of us,

On the rail.

It looked at us,

As if to say,

“Well feed me then!”

So I put some biscuit crumbs out,

And there is sat eating.

And then others came

And a feast was had.

We had another guest as well,

Getting ready in our room

The balcony door open

A pied wagtail came in,

Picked up a dropped piece of popcorn,

Bowed to us as a thank you

And then wagged its way out.

I was such a pleasure for us

To be so near to Nature,

To Nature’s glory.

Yes, we have a hedgehog visits some evenings just before dusk.
They don't outstay their welcome - unlike me, and my plea of 'Just one more song for ya!' lol.

Sparrows are regular nest makers in the garden - one of my favourite birds and so often taken for granted. nice write Andy.

I hope those crumbs were organic, with a natural sweetener that wouldn't harm their delicate digestive system.

    Dear Andy,
I’d welcome your guests anytime. As a matter of fact, they are frequent visitors at this time in my aunt’s garden.
    Thank you for sharing.
