In the Wake of New Gods
Never fear
I could not tear up
or otherwise
destroy all the things
that made us look fools ..
And anyway,
who am I to question
the validity
of your new god,
the latest iPhone
and your
unwavering devotion ..
Tomorrow
is another day though
and in the meantime
I shall take
a back seat for a while
and enjoy
what is left of the view
in the golden
wake of your new god ..

True description of the inception of technology and what the Apple Store looks like when a new iPhone comes out and everyone is rushing to be blessed
Bless you Parisab ............... Neville
Good write N.
Thank you S .
Back seat's the best spot for back seat driving. But otherwise destroying all that makes us look foolish is top order. The new and latest is for many but that could be seen as a badge of surface dwelling and a lack of much depth.
maybe it would be fair to suggest that such people were somewhat shallow .. perhaps ..
Shallow waters : babbling on latest iPhones to babbling brooks... or summat
Is worshipping the cell phone the latest cult.? Will they all walk into the sea at the same time?
There is a growing feeling that we are raising a generation that will be incapable of human interaction. They will walk around with their phones doing whatever it tells them to do. Scary!! - Phil A.
tis a funny old, strange old, scary old world isn't it and such a shame .. yet some call it progress while others of course know no other .. Neville
True words Neville, the latest new god should be treated with apathy.
Andy
I hear you loud n clear Andy, cheers ..
funny, every other word I read
mentions, people's
demons and life's devilish temptations
I thought western secular society assassinated all deity's
how convenient, we choose to keep
the demonic around;
'American gods', a book that's
as prophetic as it is steeped
in mythological fantasy;
we be contrary creatures, that duality
necessity
of self betraying contradiction
in our every choice...)
bless you brother M .. 🙂
