As we get older things change,
Those things that we used to do
Get harder in time.
Physicality drifts away
As strength leaves our body.
Mentally things change
Where the mind struggles.
And then we lie to ourselves,
As we often say:
“I’ve no need to write that down,
I will remember it!”

Good write Gold.
On a different aspect, if things worry us, it can be good to write them down. Then we've got them 'out' of our mind, as it were, though we still may have to deal with the things.
Thanks Orchi.
Yes very true writing things down does help with our mind.

You remembered it? In a comedy film, a couple join the Foreign Legion 'to forget'. But then they forgot what they came there to forget!
Your describing me and I'm in my early sixties!
Thank you 2781, I am now in my mid seventies and it is happening to me as well. LOL
Andy

There's no shame in writing things down or making lists....I do that all the time!! Christina
Very true Christina.

I can relate to every line of this poem dear friend. I've approached memory loss with a bit of paranoia, in that I write everything down, my kitchen counter is often a sea of post-it notes. Perhaps one day I won't really care if I forget. Good write!
We always remember the most important things though Bella.
