JAZZ IS LIFE

Bobby O

JAZZ IS LIFE
Swing into life with  with a boogie infusion, take less time to sort out the mess and confusion,
face up  and corral and challenge the days tribulations
hide them away, forget calm and perfect creations, expect next  the dents that stride into our moments, reconvene reconstruct adjust recompense, listen again and again til Coltrane’s solo makes sense,  it’s not the Beatles or ballads the circle of  life is bent to ellipse, take time to dig into why modal Miles exists , life’s path twists it’s truth in irrelevant measure
find genius conveyed when Monk’s music builds pleasure there’s metaphor and more, note the organized chaos in any Thelonius disharmonious score. Thus Said, To be simply polite, life is Jazz so
Jazz  must be Life

Glad you like it. The segue for me was Ramsey Lewis, The Crusaders, Stanley Turentine, who all charted on R&B charts. Then disco swept in and then I read the Story of Kind of Blue and I was hooked like a first time heroin high. ( just guessing at that)

Jazz has been in my life for over seventy years and always will be.
I have all of Miles recorded albums.

I really wish we could sit and listen and talk. Miles entry w the horn onBye Bye Blackbird is teasingly perfect. And a million others but that entry… if you haven’t hearditina while listen now and focus on how he almost waits too long to come in bit it ends up perfect. I get goosebumps.

This is a great tribute to an original form of musical expression. It cleverly integrates many "Jazz" references with a "jazz" style of improvisation in the blues style. If you don't love Jazz you don't love life.Well done

I’m putting this one on my wall and if this pretty girl don’t cancel me maybe she reads this and is persuaded into improvisational behavior. ??

I read this as a piece of Jazz, itself. Sometimes it (Jazz) can seem disconnected, but if you listen a few more times then, the wisdom shines through. - Phil A.

Jazz is way to put structure to chaos, both in life and music. I truly enjoyed this piece.
