A Superb Day.

Goldfinch60

Well finals day had come,

The club members had battled well,

Four players had reached the two finals.

The final battle was to be fought,

The club members were there

To watch the fights,

Watch the fights on the croquet lawn.

Mallets were drawn

And the first pair fought.

They went to the first hoop

And the battle took place,

Each other’s balls hit away

Until fifteen minutes later

The first ball went through,

Each hoop was then run through

And one player could do no wrong,

She reached the eighth hoop,

Put the ball through,

And won the game.

The second final was then fought,

A cut and thrust battle,

Neither knight would surrender

Until one eventually overcame the other

And won the match on the tenth hoop.

A wonderful day of croquet

Bringing the club together even more.

Good sport,

With good humour,

Very good food,

And such wonderful companionship.

A superb day.

    And not rained off?
At first slightest drop of rain, cricketers all dash indoors!

I didn't know Croquet could be so stressful. Sounded like a lot of fun. I suppose there's a technique to it all.
A few pints and some good food made it all worthwhile. I wonder if there is a piece of music about Croquet. Just to make your day that much better. Nice work. - Phil A,

Croquet is not the gentile game that many people assume it is, it is a full on battle ground. It is a great game and a lot of pleasure can be had with it.
We had a fabulous day Phil, thank you for your kind words.
