WHAT DID YOU THINK WOULD HAPPEN?

LIZ

Notice of absence from LIZ
PEACE, LOVE, LIGHT!

You crashed my door and broke the hinge. The lock fell off and terror breached. I fanned my hopes to keep the peace, but there was much I couldn't see.

With all the smoke I couldn't breathe. My heart polluting from the mist. I opened windows, coughing dreams, gasping for air I couldn't reach.

I realized I had to leave, and crawled my way out of the pit. My soul exhausted from the heat, withdrew my love out of your grip.

this is superb and on so any levels .. firstly as a poem and in its very own write, it can clearly hold it's head above water ..

and then as an expression of your own achievement and dynamic recovery ..

Like I said .. superb LIZ and keep that head held high πŸ’œ

A good writing liz tho sad . It’s good to get away from those things that are not wanted / or feel harmful . Sounds intrusive / and unhealthy

        • LIZ

Absolutely! Fighting and crying, but must be done. Thank you very much! πŸ’‹

Oh Liz, love can bring us pouring our guts out into a drain, but in the end we are strong we get up we move on and if we are really lucky as we both are, we get to write about that moment and share with others who may never have experienced such, and I hope they never do. I will survive, yes you did. πŸ’–

              • LIZ

😭😭😭😭😭 Teddy!!! Yes!!! This isn't something I want anyone to relate to. Too painful. BUT, a huge learning experience! Thank you for your kind words!!! πŸ’–πŸ’–

' Sorry to be a party pooper, but you could do with being more selective with respect to whom you relate to initially.........

                  • LIZ

Not a party pooper at all! I appreciate your honesty. Thank you!

                      loving the tight rhyme scheme
such ease in your poetic flow
                      and yes
                      those who love without brakes
                      must first, learn to survive!
                      soar then Phoenix heart
                      shine evergreen Bright
                      let them all regret
                      allowing you to escape
                      and evolve, beyond
                      grasp, of their regret charred
                      fingers and heart..
                      fools

I knew you'd be selective enough to associate with me! 😁🀣

I think it takes great courage to end an abusive relationship, as you have described here. Kudos my friend for your strength, and resiliency in writing this poem.

                          • LIZ

I appreciate that Bella!! Thank you!!! πŸ’‹

Cutting the cords of toxic love takes but also gives great strength.
                            Great write!

                            • LIZ
