when the queue
is down
to just one
and that one
just so happens
to be you ..
And
when the train
arrives
bang on time
and it
starts raining
the very
same second
you hop
on board ..
When the
outside toilet
seat
is still warm
to the touch ..
And
when you
look in your
new
grandchild’s
eyes
and she smiles ..
Well
then you
just know that
you have
been blessed ..

When it’s your day then rejoice be it blessed or luck or mathematical inevitability. Cuz those other days when dog bites and the bees sting and lightning hits like a Lou Christie song, well those days might also occur. That warm outside toilet might not be thoughts I’d think about though?

I find that hard to believe .. what with all your hymn poems n all that I would've thought you were on the cusp of sainthood 😇
But I married KP one terrible day - heehee. Not that I see her in person much, only in the papers, on TV, etc 99% of the time.
So often it's the smallest things that mean so much, and for which you are truly grateful. At the end of the day, when you count your blessings, you realize how wonderful your life is. Beautifully, and thoughtfully written dear Nev!
