Slippery Slanderings

Tune: Dominus Regit Me

('The king of love my Shepherd is')

Psalm 109 v.27-31

********

Help me, O Lord, my God, save me

According to your mercy

That my enemies may this know

That you your doings me show

Let them curse, Lord, but you do bless

I shall trust, shall you confess

When enemies arise, may shame

Be to them, I praise your name

Let me your servant here rejoice

To follow you be my choice

Let enemies be confused, fall

But I shall tell your works all

I will greatly praise Him, the Lord

And trust in His good, true word

I praise Him midst the peoples for

He shall come, help, save the poor

I much prefer libel to slander .. is there as much libel in the bible as slander I wonder .. 🐧😇👍

Thanks N. Dunno quite, but the Psalmist was in a right old state, having been slandered - rightly so, I think. A tricky Psalm to make a poem out of.

Religion inspires just one side always told as if the counterbalance of things awry makes sense to ignore.

                Nice one orchi,
Of course we will be ridiculed and slandered, and hated and scoffed
But we do everything in Jesus's name and it doesn't matter because He is our Savior and nothing anyone says matters,
Our treasures and rewards are in Heaven and that's where we are going eventually,
                Just u watch ⌚️
