The Joy Of Children.

Goldfinch60

I see them so often

And they bring joy to my heart.

We could be walking in town

And I see them,

Or walking in the park

And I see them,

We could be drinking coffee

In our favourite water hole

And I see them.

See the young children,

So innocent,

So happy.

Their laughter pulls at me

And brings so much enjoyment.

So why do people do it?

Why do people hurt children?

I just do not understand,

I am a peaceful man

But when I hear

Of adults hurting children

Anger rises within me.

I just do not understand,

Do not understand why,

Why adults hurt kids.

    Yes, terrible.
Something about 'Whoever offends little ones, it's better for them to have a millstone hung round their necks and cast into the sea'. Some words of 'gentle Jesus, meek and mild'!
And your comment on them, which is quite swoony, if it wasn't so serious. Hung up by their - swoon!

Thanks Orchi, it is the one thing that angers me when children are hurt by adults.

            Their laughter pulls at me
And then you really opened it up with a rallying cry that calls for the society to wake up. I liked this piece Mr Finch.

Their laughter pulls me as well. Many years ago I was in church, the service had ended and a child's laugh rang out and everybody stopped talking and smiled at this very young girl, pulled together by her laughter - wonderful.

It's a sad subject, a painful one, when children get hurt in any way. To put words to it, well, I can only agree with the writer of this.

I've been one of these children and it's definitely not easy, and I want to thank u Andy, for this piece in particular, it touched close to home and made me realize the support we have as the abused and the support we need to give to the abused ,
I know where you stand with God,but overcoming this horrible stuff is what drew me closer to Him,
Thank you my friend from the deepest part of my heart and soul, this piece means so much

Your heartfelt poem touched me deeply, as it resonates with the emotions that many parents, like myself, experience when confronted with the painful reality of child abuse. The vivid imagery you've painted of innocent children, their laughter, and the moments of pure joy they bring is a beautiful reminder of the preciousness of childhood.

It is indeed perplexing and heart-wrenching to fathom why anyone would cause harm to these young souls, who embody hope, purity, and the promise of a better future. Your words capture the essence of this confusion and the anger that wells up within us when we hear about such injustices.

                    • Goldfinch60

Thank you so much for your words GS, I think all agree that to harm children is appalling.

It is unconsciounable when an adult uses violence against an innocent, defenseless child. I cannot fathom the mind of an individual who is capable of doing such a thing. I can't politely say what should be done unto them.

                      • Goldfinch60

I obviously agree Bella, I too could not be polite about what should happen to those who abuse children.

Thank you ! yo write something about us children . This is really true when somebody scold us for to play and enjoy because we are children and we should focus more on studies instead of enjoy our childhood.

                        • Goldfinch60

Thank you sonal, play as a child is important, in my long life I look back on my childhood with happiness as I used to play with friends, enjoy every moment of your life .
