On the outside
I retain my composer
But on the inside
I’m still chasing closure
Two years to the day
Since you passed on
However, a wonderful father
I fondly reflect upon
You always gave your best
The only way you knew how
I didn’t understand it then
But you know I do now
I feel your presence within me
Your love and courage everyday
Giving me strength to carry on
Especially today of all days
I’m doing okay dad
Its just that sometimes I need to cry
Because I never told you enough
I love you and why

The unseen tears have now been recorded in poetry. Well done. One can feel the passion of the family attachment through the words. Best wishes. Soman Ragavan. 27 December, 2023.
Thank you so much Soman, its been 2 years since my dad passed and I was just caught up in the moment and missing him. Thanks for reading and your comment. 😉
Mark my words my friend .. You are not alone .. My dad passed 10 years ago and I still think of him every day and miss him so .. Neville
Thanks N. When you spend so many years with him there in your life physically, its hard to get used to him not there. I don't think its something you can ever fully prepare yourself for.
A sensitive write AP.
Thanks Orchi, a sensitive write that helps the healing process.
Such a heart felt tribute to one now gone but missed. Few of us appreciate those close to us until they are gone. Nicely done
Thank you soren, When you have problems with someone of unresolved issues and the opportunity arises to make your peace, its best to do so. Especially after the person passes, it's time to let go of the issues whatever they were. No good can come from holding onto them.
powerful work.
Thank you Thomas for reading and your comment.
Such good words AP, I wish my father was still here but he passed in 1995 one month before his seventieth birthday.
Andy
I feel the same way Andy, but I realized that he's in a better place now and without any pain. Both our dads are in the best place for them. My dad passed at 95 years old 2 years ago. He'd be in worse shape now. But our dads know that we love and miss them.
