The Whole of A Woman Shared

The Whole of A Woman Shared

Sitting there like that

with your legs

slightly parted and your

  lips tightly closed ..

Wearing my old check

shirt and nothing

else, except for

the sweat we just shed ..

I realised then

what I had been missing

all along and why

upon his leaving, he also

said, he loved you too ..

    Shameful.

I thought this was meant to be a poetry site for the posting of poems, for variously appreciating them and for elsewise reviewing them .. I fear the site is beginning to lose it's sense of original purpose .. Neville

Not sure, but I know how I feel for using those words lightly, in the past.
        Shameful.

Loved by two men. Excruciatingly painful for the one that made his vows to her. Forgiveness is a remarkable quality Neville. I love this poem because it is so real. It happens. The prayers are for healing all round. Beautiful work my friend.

I have said before, it happens .. in this case, it happened long ago & to a woman I deeply loved .. I only found out he is alive and kicking & lives in a village not too far from me .. whereas, she is no longer, in every respect excepting a memory and a few scribbles here n there .. thank you for such a heart-warming visit Carrie ..

This must have been painful and I hope the passing of time and her memory has softened that hurt. I see that this site also has its finger waggers. You get them everywhere Neville 💜

Ok, I had my thoughts born free of influence but after reading some of what was said about and to I am first compelled to speak to that. Whatever else should exist or reside HERE, moral judgement should never be introduced nor should there ever be subjective expression regarding approval or disapproval of any behaviors any of us wish to share and I cringed when it seemed that unfortunately was a focus and it fucking pissed me off. I do take solace that most will be embarrassed as the inevitable weight of those sanctimonious mistakes will become their burden much as those who would cast the first stone realized that in and of itself is the far greater transgression. I bid for these comments to induce as a lesson the shame deservedly and most certainly due as arrogant and shallow behavior did not serve that of men who wish to be viewed with honor.

Just be sure there will always be more than enough room in my corner for you Bobby O .. Neville

That gratifies such that I’m thinking my effusive reaction may risk it’s read bordering childlike revelry cuz I’m unable to paint the understated punch / tap to the shoulder that is the nature of understated male decorum to display appreciation. But dude, inside I feel like Galifinakis after he got invited to the Bachelor party in the hangover. I’m grateful for the sentiment and the shared words. It’s not a little thing.

From a gentleman's view, 💜 harsh yet realistic of love.

One from the archives that still stings a little but was desperate for air so took pity on it .. bless you Teddy

I've been both gazumped and as the active agent gazumped in matters of (going, or rather tempted to use the term 'love' but resisted) sexual relations.....little more to add except that in the case of human relations, hasty judgement leads nowhere.....

indeed .. me too, but then haven't many of us .. and yes, it pays not to allow knee jerk reactions to muddy waters that have long since run clear .. Neville

This saddens me greatly Steven and after consulting a hitman, I suggest that you go seek expert attention and somewhere to hide for the foreseeable.

If it's in the realm of human existence, it's fodder for poetry. From Bukowski to Dickinson, from Dylan Thomas to Bob Dylan, poetry expresses the thoughts of poets regardless of subject matter.
To me your poem speaks to loneliness and desire. In this part of the world some are prudish and some insatiable, some loyal and some promiscuous. Human behavior is limitless. Write what you will. There will always be the objectors. One reason poetry exists is Discovery. Enjoyed your poem. - Phil A.

Very emotive words Neville, it happens like this sometimes and it can be hard to overcome but love is so strong in our lives.

isn't that what this game is all about .. poetry, I mean .. if it was all smiles, fluffy guineapigs & Botox etc it would lose its universal appeal. Neville
