In the depths of winter
I’m reminded of your smile
I’m warmed inside
And gone are the lonely miles
With the snow falling all around
I remember you in springtime
The leaves all of color
And birds all sing in rhymes
But now the birds ask
Where have you gone?
They sing of sweet love
But for your presence they long
Sometimes in Winter
The memory of you lingers
With one who knew you well
And the touch of your fingers
But all I could do
Was see you from a distance
Feeling the glow in my heart
Smiling without resistance
I can’t help but wonder
If you knew the affect you inspired
On a young boy in school
His heart all afire

Good write AP.
Argh! KP don't go out much in winter. I have to see her beautiful (eh?) face more! lol.
So you can spend more quality time together Orchi. Face the truth Orchi, you and KP were meant to be. 😘🤔
Oh woe! lol.
😁
I like to think she knows ..
and whenever I come upon words such as these, dedicated to your very own Rose .. I am reminded of just how strong love can be ..
I am also reminded of my own Sharon Rose who I met on a school cruise and fell for too .. I think I mentioned before she emigrated to the US many years ago now .. 🌹
Yes N, I do remember you mentioning it, and thank you for bringing it to my attention again. For if I could bring her back to you in any such way, I would gladly do it. And so today i have done just that. 😁👍
Beautiful sentiment expressed in your stanzas AP. That young boy has remembered all these years later. She must have been quite something. Winter warmth here in your words. I enjoyed your chosen music too. Thank you.
Yes Cassie, she is quite a girl (all grown up now) and her impact on me has only increased over all these years. It's not that I live in the past, but more of I cherish my memories of her to the point that it overflows in words. If I could have given her all my poetry for her before she left town, I would have. Thanks for reading and your complements too. 😊
A powerful poem, you really paint a picture and capture something special.
As she captured me Tom. All my poetry for Sharon, I try to express the impact she's had on me back in the day, and still today 56 years later. Thanks for reading and your compliment Tom. Greatly appreciated. 😉👍
Wonderful words AP. I am sure that she feels your love in the ether coming to her.
Andy
Thank you Andy. I think if she were to think long enough about it, she'd know the truth. 😉
A love that is simply timeless ❤️
I'll go to my grave with Sharon in my heart. Thanks Teddy. 😉
