Suddenly awakened
From a deep sleep
For what reason
I blindly seek
Must be seven AM
As my alarm wails
Although not of electric source
But with four paws and a tail
Satuit, how do you know
The exact time every morning
To wake me up
With a howling warning
You’re putting my alarm clock
Out of a job
Next, you’ll be reaching for the door
And turning the knob
Yes, I know
You’ve got to go out
Just a nudge of my hand will do
You don’t have to shout
Ok, you’ve gone potty
Now I’m going back to bed
My pillow not done with me yet
I’ll try to find the dreams that fled

My pooch Brulee Bru Bruiser Parsley Parsnip Pettitt does exactly the same .. keeps better time than my Omega & Longines so she does .. ta for the chuckle mate .. Neville
It's a conspiracy, our dogs are in cahoots. π€ Thanks N.
Wow, I can really relate to this. I've been trying to find the snooze button on my black Labrador for ages. π
I suspect our dogs are secretly meeting behind our backs and talking about their pets (us). Next Orchi will drop in with stories of Fido. πΆ
Good point well made, AP. I think they definitely discuss us in secret! π
Good write AP. lol.
Fido always wakes up KP. I trained him to! lol.
aah, I think you've got that backwards Orchi, maybe you mean Fido has you trained? πΆπ€
Yes, Fido has me trained, AND I trained him to wake up KP every day on purpose. lol.
You must be bribing him. Ok Orchi, out with it. What are you bribing Fido with? Treats? Cash? Ear plugs? π
For me itβs my cats. The howling is a fine alarm. Lol
meow meow meow meow meow. ( human translation - feed me feed me feed me feed me feed me)π
lol yes all the time. Or attention.
I think that hound has you by the tail......no, sorry he'd got the tail...
I know of a cat (not mine)who does the same thing with immaculate timing , only it's a paw, a butt and if all else fails a sit on the head...
You're probably better off, AP.
Thanks Dave. Ok Satuit, the howling is good, howl all you want. π
Lol, I love it. My kittens pull some real funny stuff.
Thanks Thomas. They aren't plotting against you, are they? I can see it in the headlines, "Man attacked by kittens and held hostage for toys." π―
Wakey wakey lol that dog is your new found business my dear A.P you look like a fab team. π
Thanks Teddy, that's my buddy Satuit. ππ
I can't avoid a smile as I read this "delight" While I never had the experience of being awoken by a four legged friend, I did have a dog addicted to walks. All I had to do was head for the closet that held the leash, and she went berserk, I hardly had the leash on when she'd pull me out the door. They are insistent, but we do love them. I just loved this poem!
Thanks Bella. It just amazes me how he'll wake me up every morning at exactly 7 AM. π
Apparently he has his alarm set.
Unless he can read the digital clock next to my bed. π
Good fun write AP. Dogs know yer know? LOL
Andy
Thanks Andy. He knows more than I know. π
