THE EDIMPOST
(1)
As I took the road to nowhere
I stopped to ponder
what lies yonder
and how long it would take me to get there.
(2)
Cutting toenails is hard so I’ve found
and it seems to me
how much easier ‘twould be
if the knees were the other way round.
The Edimpost. A form of my own consisting of a single four line stanza with a rhyme sequence of ABBA in which the first line makes a statement and the following lines offer impossible or implausible commentary.

Mr Edwards 😂 how funny you are this grand Monday morn. Oh I love them all but laughed out loud at this
Cutting toenails is hard so I’ve found
and it seems to me
how much easier ‘twould be
if the knees were the other way round
Hilarious all three ❤️
Aw thanks - yes it does conjure up a cartoon.

I’ll try to post more but so busy on the art front - did the one above for Mottankur who posts here - it’s going in a School magazine in Assam where he lives.
