THE EDIMPOST

As I took the road to nowhere

I stopped to ponder

what lies yonder

and how long it would take me to get there.

Cutting toenails is hard so I’ve found

and it seems to me

how much easier ‘twould be

if the knees were the other way round.

 

 

 

The Edimpost. A form of my own consisting of a single four line stanza with a rhyme sequence of ABBA in which the first line makes a statement and the following lines offer impossible or implausible commentary.
