Distance and time
Will leave most hearts cold
But a special love it is
When it grows to be this old
I remember it like yesterday
The famous “Summer of Love”
My toys replaced by a girl
1967 that I speak of
And when you moved away
Heartbroken was I
But the heartache quickly passed
When I remembered your smile
Where do I find you now
When you remember me
Is it only in your distant past
Or in the depths of your heart, I see
Of all the joys in my life
Only one so beautiful a name
When my heart smiles beyond compare
And it needs someone to blame
For me never again
Would love find me like this
Strong as it is today
Without even your kiss
For ‘tis your smile
That outshines my Sun
And my dream would come true
If our dreams became as one

Oooohh, call me Sharon! heehee.
Orchi, you're not pretty enough to be called Sharon. At least not the Sharon I know. 🙄
Distance makes the heart grow fonder not only in geography but time. Soft memories that screen out reality are left as keepsakes that could never be.
And I've no shortage of those. Thanks soren for the read and comment. 😊

This stanza is a poem all by itself. You surely have the gift of rhyme and of having one of the truest poetic hearts I've ever had the pleasure to know and to read. 🌹
Teddy, I think you enjoy seeing me turn red, don't you? Thank you for the nicest compliment I've ever gotten. 🫂
They will become one AP and that love will go on for eternity.
Andy
Thanks Andy, More than likely not until I walk through the Pearly Gates will our eyes meet again. But that's ok, doesn't change anything. 😊👍
