The Late Great Hieronymus Bosch

The Late Great Hieronymus Bosch

Tis sad, today so little is known

about the once great

but incestuous, Hieronymus Bosch ..

Who waved his brush

between 1450 and 1516 like no other ..

And tho’ he never took a lover

left a wife, had two sisters and a brother ..

Yes, did you meet H. Bosch in person, as Goldfinch and I did, being very old?! He was gonna paint KP, and did a picture of a trout! lol. Well, he did scenes of Hell too, so......

Yes Orchi and I met him but Orchi spoiled it all by putting water in his paint at one time so some of his artwork did not get seen. LOL

I've never heard of him, but now I feel as though I really missed out on something special. But...I didn't miss out on this scribble of yours N. I wish Hieronymus Bosch had seen this. πŸ˜ŠπŸ‘

So the CV of Hieronymus is free public knowledge, Neville, images of his works can be found all over, the originals on your travels....but the, ah... more intimate...er... details of ...um... his life....just where.....? Never minded giving hell a run for it's money.....

.. Ha .. I should think he has probably been there, done it and has been claiming royalties for yonks πŸ˜ŽπŸ‘

That’s a name that eschews character. And what I like most is that we both named our dog Coltrane.

Once again, you introduce me to something new, so I had to google H.B. to learn about him and his art. He almost seems a renaissance surrealist in ways. Thank you my friend for a glimpse into this extraordinary man, from an extraordinary poet.

Like so many great artists that are around many are never thought of, I love art of all types and have seen some wonderful artwork by artists nobody knows.

A homage to a great painter who was one of my favorites in my teen years. I had several large prints of his that I had framed. A painter of rather dark subjects that were surrealistic in many ways. Wonderful write.
