I Want To Go Back.

Goldfinch60

There I was in this place,

I looked around and beauty was seen.

The sun shone gently down,

White clouds floated by,

Nature’s symphony was heard.

Laughter from people abounded,

As we passed each other we smiled,

We chatted and we laughed.

All helped each other

And no price was paid.

Love for our world abounded

And there were never any arguments,

We all wanted to help each other

In this wonderful life we had earned,

To give love and respect to all.

A place that was like heaven,

The heaven of love and peace.

But then I opened a door

And woke up from my dream

Into this world,

This world of so much hate and disrespect,

A world full of politicians

Who lie through their teeth

Thinking they know best,

But they just want for themselves

And do not care for others.

I want to go back to that place,

Back to the place of my dreams.

They come out of the woodwork near election time. Who will get in this time? Will people vote now, with the ID system introduced?

    • Goldfinch60

They certainly will Orchi, but I will vote using the ID I had to have when we watched the Magna Carta signed.

This highlights the human condition.I totally agree because I prefer my own dream world. The real world is filled with liars.

      • Goldfinch60

        So true David, thank you.

So well penned Andy. You reflect what many feel in their hearts. Politicians are the worst. 👍

Oh Andy, I wish with all my heart and soul we could go back to that place you describe so beautifully. The insidious nature of politics has changed everything in our lives. A very intuitive and powerful write!

              • Goldfinch60

I too wish we could go to that place Bella, much appreciated.

I'll be so honest and say I really am not enjoying this world today either. I did enjoy your political lip moving jibe so true they used to lie years ago although they were less heavy. 🌹

It’s not politicians. They’re merely a caricature of humanity. Sorry lot indeed.
