As I step off the Universe into this new place
I see a sign in front of me
And it says
“Beware Hippies Are Hear
And you will find peace, love and joy!”
I walk passed the sign
And find this place,
This place where the wonder of love,
Love and happiness abound,
A new place where there is no sorrow,
No unhappiness,
Where all the life I see is good.
Agreement is the way of life,
Where all help each other into a better way,
A better way of living in this place.
I look back at the Universe and wonder,
Wonder why my Universe, my world
Cannot be like this
If it was like this all would be fine.
But now I have moved on and am here,
Here in this new place where sorrow,
Sorrow and acrimony have never been.
Now happy in my life where love is for all,
Maybe I have found that place,
That place where the Hippies now live,
And are led by their mantra,
Make Love Not War.

The Hippies were really on to something special. The summer of love, 1967. The same year I myself first discovered love. 🌹
They certainly were onto something special AP, it is a shame others did not realise that.

Godo write Gold.
But I don't think Hippies, or Hippies alone, will be enough to save the world/universe.
Maybe not Orchi but it would be a start if their love for all spread to others.

Yes, it's something. I thought, with the sowers and seeds parable, some people produce 30 fold, some 60 fold, and some 100 fold. 30 fold is better than nothing at all surely!
The return of the gods.
So true as long as they gave us freedom and love 2781.

What a wonderful world it would be.
Perhaps we need to prove ourselves in this mess to get to such a place.
Thank you John.
Yes it would help for us to show others that peace and love are the answers.

Andy, you would be the perfect "hippie." At least you would think like one. All love and goodness. You would be like the guru.
Enjoyed your poem. Brought back memories of another time. - Phil A,
So kind Phil and you are probably right in my mind I am a hippie and try to show goodness all around.
That other time was wonderful.

How very beautiful. ❤️
Most kind Teddy, thank you.

I remember the hippies in the late sixties.Love peace and mung beans.Unfortunately Charles Manson ruined their image.Still great poem. You have found peace.
So do I David, but they say if you remember the sixties you weren't there, the sixties were a wonderful time.
Yes I have found peace.

I wondered where they went, Andy.... These were fun times, the sixties (and seventies) with many contradictions.......
There still a few Hippie communes around Dave but they are few and far between.
The sixties were certainly fun times, I was there.
