Conversions of money
Between countries is what it is
Each with its own names
Varying valuations of gibberish
I only know the US dollar system
Of dollars and cents
Somehow opinions get a value too
Who decides those values makes no sense
And we, the tax payers
Pay our taxes annually
But who listens to our opinions?
Automatically or manually
Seems our opinions
Overruled and invalidated
But if we did a head count
Our numbers would be positively calculated
All I can offer is this
My opinion I’ll put forth
Someone’s getting a bigger piece of pie
And that’s my two cents worth

Excellent.
Thank you Thomas for reading and the compliment. ๐๐
LOL Here in Italy we are heavily taxed, although we are taxed on everything including medicine, we could be in for a small windfall come July each year, depending on our own structured situation. A wonderful subject. Fat Sam is enjoying steak somewhere. ๐คฃ
Stash away some air somewhere Teddy before that gets taxed too. I'm still looking for my piece of pie. ๐
Good write AP.
Thanks Orchi.
Good words AP, does anybody listen to us?
Andy
Their lips move but they're too busy eating my pie to listen Andy. ๐
Spend it wisely or start a revolution, AP.
Two cents doesn't go very far Dave, but thanks. ๐
Having not long returned from the Caribbean and spent four days in Miami including the 4th July celebrations, I can honestly say, the topic of conversation (whenever I heard English spoken) reflected the theme of your poem today ..
I would not be surprised if the Spanish speakers who seemed to predominate like their counterparts who were visiting or lived on the US islands I myself visited were similarly fixated .. Very original and much enjoyed AP .. Neville
Thank you N, you didn't happen to run into anyone with more than their share of pie did you? ๐
I never ran into anyone .. that happened in Canada 1982 when I ran into a fire truck taking the mayor to see our then queen Elizabeth 2nd on 125th anniversary of Canada Day ..๐คฃ๐& no kidding .. Neville
As you know, it doesn't buy much these days.
Thanks 2781, These days your take home pay won't even take you home. ๐
Ha!
Nicely done. Thanks for sharing your two cents worth. ๐
Thanks Tom, I had to do something with it. It was burning a hole in my pocket. ๐
You know the cupboard will soon be bare. We in the UK have the highest taxes since WW2. A new government has just been elected by approx 33 per cent of voters. That means 67 per cent didnโt want them.
Guess what, a whole lot more taxation promised. There ainโt gonna be much more than crumbs left. The pie has been eaten:)) A very topical write AP. If it moves, if itโs dead, no difference, Itโs gonna be taxed. Now Iโm gonna wish you a very happy weekend๐
And a very happy weekend for you as well Cassie (hope they don't tax you on that). ๐
I wouldnโt put it past them ๐
Someoneโs getting a bigger piece of pie
And thatโs my two cents worth
You expresses it so rightly...
Amazing poem AP.
Thank you Meera, appreciate the read and compliment. ๐
Opinions, money, or power its what happens in a capitalistic system where greed rules the game. Good write my friend.
Thanks soren. Greed, it's not a four letter word, but begs to be. ๐
