False Promises and Little White Lies
Let’s talk about promises
shall we ..
Those you give and those
that you take ..
Those we share and those
between us we
somehow, always manage
to break ..
Let’s talk about promises
and how so
many these days, are nothing
but fake or false
and a tissue, of little white lies
..

Nicely done, mate. Works on a lot of levels, relationships, politics... very good, Neville.
Thanks Tom you are a credit to insight .. Neville
I never knew I made false promises and told little white lies! lol.
There ya go, you just can't help yourself can you ..
A great write Neville. I knew a man once who on his word alone with no written contract lost over a million dollars sending him into bankruptcy. A man of honor whose word was more valuable to him than his wealth. I see little of these days. it may be more of a black tissue of dark lies. Nicely done
Thank you my friend, yes .. fortunes are often easier lost than they are made .. kindest of regards, Neville
Bitter, or merely observation, Neville?
.................................. Observations ππ
I suppose one could follow the trail of white tissues and get to know someone, but only their sad side. I like the subtlety of this poem. many meanings hidden i the tissue box. - Phil A.
You got this old fella smiling Phil cheers for that .. Neville
Promises are made these days to achieve a desired end. And when that end is attained, somehow the promise never existed, it is an alternate reality we live in. Will we ever be able to trust the word of another again? Quite a chilling write my friend, but a much needed one.
it certainly feels like that doesn't it Bella .. whatever happened to scruples, morels & dignity eh' ..
Gone with the wind my friend
People all too often make promises they are unable to keep, unrealistic or just insincere. All to casually used. Good work.
Thanks Dan .. You are spot on sir .. Neville
So true in many ways Neville.
Andy
Thank you Andy .. Neville
Letβs talk about it. I felt chagrin in your pen as you offered your view on the current
View. I want to jump in and carry w you an unspoken regret. No time frame or words directly aimed , just a melancholy him that surely says and do wants to gather that other Also ? With you? All we nodding together that the way was better and sometimes even tickled honor.
Thanks for stopping by Bobby & good to see you my friend .. Neville
Some pieces are created so that some one like me inhale it as oxygen to breath in peace
