Silent colors

sorenbarrett

White silence peaceful and calm,

where cotton clouds float,

on the running river of time a psalm

sculpts meaning without a note

Red silence paints birthing skies

regurgitating a morning sun

spilling blood as it dies

when day is done

Age's yellowing fear

drools phlegm on a quiet cloth

bleeding stain of a tear

drips through holes made by a moth

Blue is the music of silence

as it falls in freezing rain

tearing each heart with violence

from solitary pain

Silence now black

fills fetid sewers of time

putting hope with a dog and monkey in a sack

thrown into the river Thyme

I can't like that one. Should I pray for a speedy recovery?

    • sorenbarrett

With all the basic colors you can make any color you want. Although they can be ugly they can be beautiful as well. I hope you feel better soon.

      one to favour soren.

      is Blue.

      most impressed.

      • sorenbarrett

Thanks so much for your most kind review and comment it is most appreciated. Colors wave lengths reflective or absorbing they become favorite or not just as everything else.

Not only do you suggest meals for KP, but also places for her holidays - fetid sewers! How come you know what she likes? lol.

        • sorenbarrett

We use silence in many different ways, and you have expressed so cleverly and beautifully the various forms, each with its equivalent emotional color. Great Write!

          • sorenbarrett

Dear Bella than you so much for the read and most kind comment I appreciate it very much. I keep watching for your next entry.

Some, as you suggest hardly make a sound while others scream and roar .. My old sensei (now long gone) had a colour for everything and everyone .. He saw me in terms of purple and white .. Neville

            • sorenbarrett

Thanks Neville you are right and as for your colors a good choice Purple being wisdom, creativity, royalty, power, ambition while white of course purity, cleanliness, and innocence. Good choice.

                Blimey ........................ 🤍💜

And I do now to thee, one of my most favourite poets who also values the colour blue, I see nothing but acceptance and peace in this. We all have our own choices in life and it's really literally because religion or sexual preferences or colours are all blinded by love as long as we are happy. And I bow to you darling friend. Kudos. 🌹

                  • sorenbarrett

Thanks friend for such a gracious review and such kind words. Each color is only a part of a greater spectrum and prejudice toward any is only a prejudice against all.

                    Great rhyme scheme,
                    flow and blend!!
                    Best regards ✌️ Thad

Being colorblind forces me to pay attention to descriptions of colors; this does that very well. Thanks.

                    • sorenbarrett

Thank you for your most kind words. They are appreciated and most welcome

That colour fills our life soren and will always do so.

“Sculpts meaning without a note” a powerful line And u love the dog and monkey in a sack though I’m still trying to unwrap it and that helps make this poem great !

                        • sorenbarrett

As any old Roman would tell you, it is hard to unwrap from inside the sack.
Thanks so much Bobby for the read and most kind words they are valued.

                        • Parisab

The whole of nature, describing primary colors…very inventive….
