You know I never expected
Anything from you
If anything at all
Just for you to be true to you
Love comes into our lives
And we may wonder why
Cupid’s aim is on target
The target heart of mine
I might have wondered why me
But I never complained
I just thanked God above
For when that blessing came
Sharon, you showed to me
The real value of love
Whether or not you loved me
I know it was a gift from above
And in loving you
I learned what love is all about
That love isn’t about having what you want
But more of what you can’t live with out
In my life
I’ve known love all but ten of my years
At sixty-seven, I figure I’ve done aright
Some people sadly don’t know love at all
For them I say, “I hope they see that light”
For its having love in your heart
Whether at your side or not
Its knowing love is there at all
With your smile, for me it means a lot
In the end I know
My life’s only wish was granted
I found the love of my life
All I wanted

Wonderful that your heart found love that has lasted so long. Sharon certainly made a huge impact on you. Even though she isn’t by your side, her loving influence courses through your veins .
