Tuen: Contemplation
('When all they mercies, O my God')
Matthew 11 v.28-30
******
Come unto me, Jesus did say
If labouring night or day
And if you laden heavily
In me your rest shall be
Take my yoke on you, of me learn
Not to your own ways turn
For I am meek, lowly in heart
Will meet your needs, every part
So rest unto your souls shall be
For my yoke easy, see
And my burden light to up take
Bear such for my name's sake
Thus if yoke does seem difficult
If heavy burden halt* (*hindering, stopping you)
Your progress, it is not from me
I the Son set you free
Comfort I bring, not grievous task
Hearing prayers that you ask
Learn of me here, I will you guide
You, with, [and] in you reside

- Comment from author about the poem: A hymn-poem in 8.6.8.6. In verse 4 I considered why Jesus' burden may not always seem light, and the yoke not always seem easy. It must surely be us ourselves pulling and going in the opposite direction to Him somehow.

You've had 'Comforting Consolations' from me. Here's 'Consoling Comfortings'. Bot the same?!
A most familiar and good message Orchi. What ever one believes in should be assumed and carried with one in their life.
Thanks SB. A shock - someone said after years at church - ugh, why do we need sermons?! Though we may all think that at times if a preacher drones on, etc.
I think Mrs Botox deserves comforting and consolations at times Orchi. What say you) 🙂 Happy Wednesday.
Thanks Cassie. Not too much comfort for her though - she will only get too big for her boots again. lol. She says to me 'I wish you would stop feeding me sewage for dinner'. I'm terrible to her. lol.
I love it!!!!
Thanks GS and for 'favourites' on my poems.
