DARK LIGHT OF NIGHT
The sun is bright but try as I might
I’m more inclined to the dark of night
For I love the moon which makes its mark
By giving us light whenever it’s dark
But the sun, sad to say, is not so bright
it only comes out whenever its light.

A great poem whether taken literally or metaphorically nicely done
A play on words but can be taken in other ways - Thanks S
A fine write M. Who could not like Stanley - ahh!
Yes, is the sun wasted, only coming out when it's light already?! lol.
You seen Colonel Berle-Ington (Burlington)? Any relation to Miss Berles?
Stanley is a joy - so loving and a good little pooch. Colonel B is no relation but they do both come from Bow.
You will find your light again dearest Michael, it will come back when you least expect it, oh your photo of that gorgeous dog makes my heart warm. 🌹
Ah the light will shine X Stanley is a real joy.
He is gorgeous a sausage dog?
Yes a little sausage xx
Great write
Thanks Tony
You're welcome
the sun and the moon both bring differing light to our lives Michael.

It was a lovely moon last night - quite sandy coloured in a clear sky but Just returned from walking Stanley this morning and it is grey, bleak, cold and if it wasn't for the trees in full leaf you'd think it was winter.
that's nice, i love its hidden meaning
Ah gee thanks nm.
I absolutely love this! It is a piece that is left open to interpretation. I can absolutely relate with it, being a nocturnal creature. An awesome play on words, which I am a huge fan of. Well done! Excellent write and an easy favorite! Oh...and hello Stanley!
Aw thanks tristan - and a big thank you from Stanley
I really like this. And I was smitten that I had no choice but to read when I saw the big puppy eyes 🙂
