A train robber one of the best,
he was well known throughout the West.
Jake and Lill planned soon to be wed,
but there was a price on his head.
The posters everywhere had read;
wanted alive, but preferred dead.
`^`
The sheriff's possie way back then;
got tipped off to, what train and when.

then promised Lill he would go straight!

That day Jake never stood a chance,
from 'the hanging tree' he would dance.

She died it's said, prematurely.
In evenings some folk swear they see;
her ghostly image, near, that tree~
