Sonnet From Calliope.

Goldfinch60

My Muse appears before me,

Calliope in my heart,

Words come to my mind to see,

To write for you to impart.

Her words flow like a river,

Always bringing joy to me,

Making my heart just quiver,

Like waves going out to sea.

The words end up on this page,

And Calliope leaves me,

Making me a better sage,

And fill my life with such glee.

This sonnet is now complete,

And ready for you to read.

  • Comment from author about the poem: Calliope looks down on me as I write my words. I know it is a long video but I could listen to Kathleen Ferrier's voice forever.

Are you sure she is not your daughter, Zeus being the father you know. This was a great write Andy your muse never seems to fail you with you writing daily and I think you are one of the highest number of reviews likes and faves.

This little song of sorts is a very lovely tribute to your inspirational muse; thank you very much for sharing a morsel of her for our indulgence. Sweetly rendered with a delicate rhythm and poignancy, it's very beautiful. Thank you again.
