A Gentleman's Lady

Teddy.15

I give you everything

my heart my love

 my upmost respect and honesty

I will support you

and you will feel

the tingling of true happiness

but don’t be fooled

I am no pushover

I say nothing and smile

until the time

something has to be said

no smudge from my lipstick

nor tears in my eyes

I will not threaten

I have no disguise

just me with my cup of tea

and my digestive biscuits.

I read your note and this poem makes sense in a litteral sense but I could take it that it was time talking as well. Nicely worded and poetically stated. Well done my friend

even in humour your words are very touching Teddy.

and a cup of tea with digestive biscuits is a perfect ending.

I declare! A gentleman's lady indeed. Those killer details--this is not simply a piece of art, it's also guidelines for the younger ladies to follow. Beautifully rendered with a tasteful delicacy yet a poignancy whose very firmness establishes the standard, this is tops! Awesome. I love it. Thank you for sharing!

You know I have a cuppa served in bed every morning. I think the digestives need to be added to the shopping list. Thatโ€™s what I call starting the day on a high note dear Teddy. Without the tea, everything would go down hill. ๐ŸŒน
