Rain Bringing Life.

Goldfinch60

Rain streams from the sky

On this September day,

It just will not stop.

It hits the ground and flows away

Down the hills,

Along the roads

Into the drains

Or into Our River.

From Our River it flows to the sea

And the oceans are filled,

They flow around the world.

As the water lifts from the sea

In a mist of wonder

Into the heights of clouds

Who move on over the land

And spill their drops all over

Bringing life to all in our world.

Nice poem .. and I quite agree (who wouldn't) regarding the importance of rain & of course water, but over the last few days in particular & pretty much throughout summer I could have near drowned in it several times .. Neville

Dear Andy, we have certainly had a deluge of rain recently. An empty water butt in our garden completely filled to overflowing in a couple of hours. Torrential it was. Of course we need it, but I prefer a bit of moderation. Some fine imagery in your poem and I enjoyed your posted music. Have a happy Tuesday, despite the weather.

Very true Cassie, it has been chucking it down and yes I always prefer moderation.
Thank you for your kind words.

We must be in synch today Gold if you read my poem it is a bit eerie how close the two are. I feel like I am reviewing my own poem. And what will others think? lol

I think it's raining everywhere in Europe we have had the worst September I've ever seen, personally I love it though. 🌹

Very true Teddy, I was speaking to a friend yesterday who was travelling in a camper van around France and he said it was only in the south that they could find dry land.

Good write, Andy. Some places get so much and some so little. Bad water management.

              • Goldfinch60

Very true Jerry, they need a new manager. LOL

My goodness! How on earth is it that you're writing about my day here in Lincoln's Land?! Is it mere coincidence??! I can't believe it. Awesome. So very beautiful and rendered to effect with the perfect ambiance and such details its subtle poignancy winks at me, I swear. Thank you for sharing.
