Our Time Of Jazz.

Goldfinch60

Every month we go there

Walk into the club we enjoy

To listen to jazz of all types.

We are there all evening

And had a wonderful time.

Looking around I see the people,

So many people fill the club,

But then I realise

That most of them are our age,

Our age or older,

And maybe in ten years time

It could happen,

That because of our ages

The club may well be empty.

The era which indulged is sadly going the way of the dogs, as the saying is, or correct me, this modern reality missing what they'll never realize until perhaps it's far too late to recover the marvelous wealth subtly lost. Beautifully rendered to effect, especially thus accompanied, its haunting poignancy as mild and tender, yet biting the harder. Thank you for sharing.

Thank you for your understanding words Missy, I think that you are right.

Good write Gold - unless they're millions of years old too, then you'll seen them for ages yet.

The youngsters are missing a treat Andy. Jazz is not on the top of their play list. I’m sure there are enough of our generation to keep the jazz flowing. My parents played jazz all the time. That!s how I have come to love it. Have a happy Thursday and may your jazz club continue to make happy.

Very true Cassie, they are missing a treat, I was brought up with jazz and classical music and enjoy them so much.

Time takes its toll and with it interests in types of music change. We are reminded of our mortality and that of some music while others remain immortal.
