Loving Light

Cassie58

Notice of absence from Cassie58
I am taking a break from poetry

it’s the light that lifts our mind set

when the heart is sunk at sea

when you sit there by the harbour

in your state of misery

when you dwell on all that’s heavy

when the future paint is grey

and the palette shows insipid

on the doldrums of the day

it’s the gleam upon the water

it’s the sparkle in an eye

it’s the flash of silver lining

that will raise those spirits high

Thank you so much Teddy. What a lovely thing to say. Delighted to have a visit from both you and missy. When I wrote this poem some time ago, I remembered my Grandad Albert who introduced me to poetry , who always pointed out to me the silver lining on rain clouds when they appeared. So pleased you enjoyed the read. 🌹

A lovely message so well said. It is the little things that make a difference in mood, a smile, the twinkel of an eye, a cheerful voice make all the difference. Lovely

I can not seem to conjure your kind of optimism; happy that you can. Nice.

              • Cassie58

Little things can give me a lift. I always find sunlight on water particularly uplifting. If I am having a down day, just a little time spent where there’s a gleam of sunlight can lighten the mood. That’s not to say it!s going to last, but it can help. I do try to be optimistic. Pleased you enjoyed my poem. A big thank you Dan.
