Short Changed on A Long Greek Island
I gave her three and a half weeks
of a single summer,
she gave me a bowl of green olives ..
We made out, on the beach, in a
telephone booth,
and on the deck of an old man’s boat ..
Not to mention, cheap hotel rooms
and those balconies ..
I thought I would not be lonely again ..
But boy was I wrong, I gave her three
and a half weeks,
she gave me a bowl of green olives ..
I gave her, my number and a promise
in return, she gave me
another bowl of green olives and the elbow ..

I know the bit that's not true - it was apples, not olives! lol.
very funny orchidee, but alas, wrong
At least no STD's or guilt, Loved the set up in the first stanza foreshadowing the outcome. This was later reinforced in the final stanza. I have in later years grown to like green olives but not those type of relationships. Loved the poem as well
it would seem everyone's a winner .. almost .. cheers
Which island was it? (Ah, I know: a gentleman.....) but you never know....

No, missed that one unfortunately.
How many bowls of olives 🫒 can one digest in the span of three weeks!
